Field Assessment/Repair Recommendations-Airborne Marine
This project was a corrosion assessment of two five-story ocean-front condominium buildings built in the mid 1980's. The structural system consisted of reinforced concrete and masonry infill with precast prestressed hollow-core plank floors and a cast-in place concrete topping.
TCG conducted a visual assessment, concrete sampling and testing for airborne chloride contamination, provided recommendations for corrosion mitigation repairs to balconies and walkways, and identified a few construction defects that were brought to the attention of the structural engineer and property management firm. TCG later provided a cathodic protection design to complement the structural engineer's strengthening designs.
